Hey guys,

I'd like to apply to Caltech for the fall term '18. I'm seeking advice from people who have already accomplished the impossible. If there's somebody who got accepted, is currently enrolled or graduated please tell me how you did this :)

Thank you very much :)

Cal Tech is "extremely competitive" with an acceptance rate of 9% (573 of 6,506 applicants). Interesting, on 42% who were offered admission, accepted.

    To even be considered:
1 ACT composite of 34 or above
2 SAT(New version) 1530 is the bottom range with most near 1600
3 Even if you were to score a perfect 1600 on the SAT, your chances of admission are only 14%. If you score below 1530, you only a 3-5% chance of admission. The SAT average for 2016 was 1560 (new) and 2310 (older)
4 CalTech does not accept AP credit toward degrees. However, it is encouraged that AP or IB classes be taken to show that you are taking rigorous courses.
5 If you are an international student, the best chance to show your background is the SAT
6 The average GPA of admitted students is 4.24/5.00 (Taking honors classes to boost GPA)
7 You should be #1 = #3 in your graduating class
8 Your Average MATH score should be 790 with reading and writing at 39 each.
9 SAT subject tests are required in MATH and one of the SCIENCES.
