I got an email from university of california, Los Angeles, requesting me to give an exam called Duolingo but it is not compulsory.

Will my application be negatively effected if I do not give the test? They mentioned in the email that it will help them in evaluating my aplication. I have given Toefl, so should I give this exam too?

    It mostly depends on the department and course you have applied to. Pls write an email to the department HOD to check on this. Alternatively, you can call up the International office. They would be able to give you more details.
