I am a recent graduate and interested to pursue research in particle physics, guide me about the whole procedure. Do i need some research experience to join a PhD abroad? Is it essential to have a good knowledge of computer programming to join research

    yes you need some experience for joining a PhD outside. you need to have a maters' in the same subject and one or two research papers on a particular topic. there are other requirements also like english proficiency tests which varies institution to institution. 
    particle physics is a mixture of material physics, electrical engineering, and software development. it doesn't matter if you go for experimental or theoretical particle physics, both essentially involves maths, statistics and computer programming. you will have to use a computer programming language like MATLAB, C++ etc. to analyse the data generated during the process.
