Many people want to go USA, Europe, Australia, Canada for studying. But most of them don’t know that Singapore is the best education place in Asia and one of the best in the world. Singapore offers lots of scholarships and waiver of tuition fees for good students. In many of the subject areas, Singapore is ranked within the global top ten.

 

Why Study in Singapore?

Singapore has six national universities, with its two largest universities having more than 30,000 students each. Singapore’s most prestigious university is the National University of Singapore (NUS) which ranked 25th in the QS World University Rankings for 2012/13 and is one of the highest-ranking universities in Asia. In many of the subject areas, the National University of Singapore is ranked within the global top ten, such as: law, computer science, mechanical engineering, geography, materials science, accounting and finance, pharmacy, communication and media studies, modern language and statistics. There are scholarships and waiver of tuition fees for good students.

 

Financial Assistance

Compared to most Asian countries, the cost of living in Singapore is relatively high. However, to ease the financial burden of overseas students, the Singapore Government provides many opportunities to get financial assistance. There are a lot of fellowship and scholarship programs offered by various agencies and the Singapore Government. Students with good academic skills can apply for the scholarships.

 

Can I work while study?

Overseas students at certain institute are permitted to work while they study. During term time, these eligible students are permitted to work 16 Hours per week. Work permits are not required for those who want to work during holidays.

 

Can I work after graduation?

Upon completing of their degree program, overseas students may submit an application for a one year visit pass (long-Term) to ICA, if they wish to seek employment in Singapore.
